ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule and prepare work timetables. Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of various civil works
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines
- Plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients for speedy progress in work
- Issue Supplemental Instructions and Variation Orders to project management
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain all necessary permits and licenses
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors and ensure contractual conditions are met
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists
- Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
- Meet engineers, architects and contractors on an ongoing basis regarding project objectives and progress
- Create and submit budget estimates to include supplies, material and labour
- Approve purchase requests, prepare cost tracking reports and ensure budget costs aren’t exceeded
- Requisition supplies and materials for construction projects
- Select tools, materials and equipment; track inventory needed is available on site
- Report work progress and budget matters to clients
- Select subcontractors; schedule & coordinate subcontractor activities
- Confer with supervisory personnel, clients, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems
- Manage job sites for both new construction and remodeling projects and monitor progress
- Initiate and implement best and effective practices in administrative functions at project sites
- Develop and update administrative systems to make them more efficient to handle workforce at sites
- Effective maintenance of utilities and ensure uninterrupted supply
- Investigate damage, accidents or delays at construction sites to assess that proper procedures are being carried out
- Assist acquisition of land for construction projects
- Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
- Hire laborers and create schedules for construction crew to ensure all projects are adequately staffed
- Select, contract, and oversee workers for specific parts of the project to ensure effective completion
- Determine labor requirements based on the work and allot workers to construction sites
- Direct, supervise and motivate site foremen and teams
- Ensure the construction process starts and ends on time, and ensure daily and weekly deadlines are met
- Develop and implement quality control program and oversee subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality standards are met
- Ensure the work at all job sites are in compliance with health, safety and all other regulations
- Conduct ongoing quality inspections
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks
- Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at construction site
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status and review the work progress on daily basis
- Able to take responsibility and pressure to meet the targets of time and quality
- Ensures general discipline, order and code of conduct in the site premises
- Willing to take up additional roles and responsibilities as and when required
- Proactive in ensuring the accomplishment of organizational goals & objectives along with self- development
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Job Qualification | Required- − Diploma/ Graduate (BE/BTech) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Preferred- – Some experience with remodeling projects preferred. Desired – Working knowledge of green building practices desirable |

Experience | For Civil Diploma Holder – – Minimum of 8 – 12 years’ experience – Atleast three projects should have been done and completed – Atleast one project in the same role For Civil Engineer (B.E/B.Tech) – – Minimum of 8 – 12 years’ experience – Atleast two projects should have been done and completed. – Atleast one project in the same role |
