January 28, 2025One of Nigeria’s leading indigenous construction firms, Still Earth Construction Limited, recently participated at the biggest construction event in Nigeria, the Big 5 Construct conference in Lagos. Six delegates from the company attended the event alongside stakeholders in the industry across the region.
The 3-day event held at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos from September 24 to 26, 2024 was well attended by professionals, government regulatory agencies, business executives and other stakeholders. The event focused on the need for partnerships among construction professionals.
Speaking about the event, Still Earth Construction General Manager, Bassam Dahdah said that the event is a laudable initiative that brings together leading companies in the Nigerian construction industry to discuss pertinent issues affecting the business. He mentioned that there are new trends in the industry making construction easier.
“The event this year is huge, and participation is quite impressive. I’ve visited several booths and met with professionals from various organizations. The sessions also have engaging conversations that span different aspects of the business, including conversations on architecture, sustainability, and artificial intelligence in construction. I see the sector making great strides with the trend displayed here today”, he said.
Other delegates from Still Earth Construction include Senior Project Engineer, Bright Osinachi; Cost & Procurement Manger, Kayode Fatumbi; Quantity Surveyor, Austin Odia and Bids & Tendering Coordinator, Chinonso Iheaka.
The Panel Session themes covered construction areas in architecture & design, facilities management, project management, quantity surveying, technology and sustainability.
Some of the selected topics of discussion focused on project financing and the importance of cost management, stakeholder communication and collaboration, the positive impact of BIM implementation and tech trends in Nigerian construction, among others.
